Introduction
DPH Engineering are Authorized Distributors of chevron v-ring packing. DPH Engineering are light- to heavy-duty designs that have been in service worldwide for many years in harsh environment applications. Some typical applications for our V-packings are pistons, hydraulic presses, earth moving equipment, and any other reciprocating and/or rotating heavy-duty assembly.
Extremely suitable for medium duty to heavy duty application. Chevron seal accepts low & high pressure, vigorous conditions & also if any misalignment between sealing gaps.
The distinctive and exclusive hinge-like action of each Chevron ring permits immediate reaction even to minor pressure changes. Each individual lip of Chevron packing set independently reacts to pressure and automatically effect a seal. DPH Engineering manufacture high quality chevron type seals that have an extremely wide application.
Advantages :

‘V’ packings (Chevron packing) combining homogeneous rubber, intermediate rings in-between the fabric laminated ‘V’ seals provide very effective sealing, where the system is subjected to frequent or abrupt pressure changes and special operating conditions such as axial movements, oscillations, side loading, shock loading etc..

Multi-piece CHEVRON seals set made up of (1+3+1) one Base ring, one or three V-Seals and one pressure ring. & also available extra Center Rings to adjust Groove Height
Material:
- Base Ring: standard version manufactured in reinforced fabric comprising of layers of cotton impregnated with Nitrile rubber compounded to resist extrusion. This component supports the Vee Rings for effective performances
Standard Material: Reinforced cotton fabric and Nitrile elastomeror, Material: Reinforced cotton fabric and Fluoro-rubber FPM (Viton) or, Material: Polyacetal (POM) / Ecotal or, Material: PTFE / PTFE filled. - V-Rings: V-Rings are made of reinforced cotton fabric and Nitrile elastomer, in standard version, to give good resilience, sealing efficiency and extrusion resistance. Due to their specific design, Vee Rings are sensitive to fluid pressure variations, enabling them to deflect throughout their radial section, increase the seal loading and effectiveness in proportion to the pressures applied. & V-Rings are made of pure elastomer for high sealing efficienty.
Standard Material: Reinforced cotton fabric and Nitrile elastomeror, Material: Reinforced cotton fabric and Fluoro-rubber FPM (Viton) or, Material: Polyurethane (P.U.) / Ecoper Material: PTFE / PTFE filled. - Pressure ring: manufactured in reinforced cotton fabric and Nitrile elastomer, hard Nitrile rubber, Acetal resin or PTFE. The function of this component is to ensure a uniform pressure distribution.

Operating Capabilities
- Maximum operating pressure: 42MPa (6092psi). Modified design and materials can considerably extend this capability.
- Temperature range (standard materials): -20°C to +100°C (-4°F to 212°F) up to 250mm (9.84 inch) OD, or to +120°C (+248°F) above 250mm (9.84 inch) OD.
- Maximum temperature (special materials): up to +260°C (+500°F).

The Right Material For The Vee Packings Is Selected Based On Various Factors Some Of Which Are:
- Operating Temperature
- Operating Pressure
- Tpe of Gases or Fluids within operating medium etc.
- Normally Fabric Vee Packings are used for High Pressure applications while Homogeneous Vee Packings are used for Low Pressure applications.
Installation:
- A properly installed Vee Packing set will usually provide better results compared to other lip-type seals. Each Set contains a nmber of Vee-Rings based upon the pressure plus male and female adapters.
- The Vee-Rings in each set are referred to as Pressure Rings.
- Properly installed Vee Packings will generally outperform other lip-type seals. They are always installed in sets. Each set contains a number of V-Rings (based upon the pressure) plus male and female adapters. The V-Rings in each set are referred to as pressure rings.
