Introduction
DPH Engineering are Authorized Distributors of graphite packing. DPH Engineering range of pure graphite compression packing styles are self-lubricating, dimensionally stable, impervious to gases and fluids, and corrosion resistant. In general, pure graphite is highly recommended when temperature exceeds 250°C / 482°F, and for application requiring self-lubrication.Graphite packing is widely used in high temperature & pressure environments such as: refineries, paper and pulp mills, petrochemical plants, power plants, and wastewater treatment facilities.
Graphite packing is ideal for the following equipments: control and block valves, LP steam turbine valves, condensate line valves, manually valves, power recovery valves. Soot blowers, agitators and mixers, boiler feed pumps, condensate pumps, hot water circulation pumps, heater drain pumps. DPH Engineering Graphite packing products are braided from high-purity graphite filaments and graphite foils. They have excellent chemical resistance, are thermally conductive, and can be used in extreme temperature and pressure conditions. Typically, carbon fibers have excellent strength and toughness and are considerably less expensive to manufacture. Since carbon fiber based packings are generally tougher than graphite, they are more resistant to abrasive media. They also have the ability to handle the higher compressive loads that are required for high pressure services.
Graphite Packing Fabrication:
When large numbers of fibers are combined (typically by twisting them together), they form yarns. The yarns are then braided into various forms and sizes of packing after coating with specific sizing agents, such as PTFE, that serve to aid braiding as well as enhance ultimate sealability.
Graphite Packings are intended to offer high temperature capability, good chemical resistance and markedly reduced spindle wear. By selecting or combining the many versions of Graphite Packings available – DPH Engineering are able to offer a versatile range of Graphite Packings with varied handling and performance characteristics. These include high conformability, resistance to extrusion, chemical purity, temperature and oxidation resistance amongst others.
